Seminole High School
Sulphur High School
The 9th grade Sulphur Bulldogs defeated the Chieftains of Seminole by a score of 34-22 on Thursday evening. Offensively the Bulldogs received an outstanding game from Quarterback TJ Todd as he rushed for a touchdown and threw for another while captaining the Bulldog’s offense. Offensively, Reese Ratchford, Ko Withrow, and Logan Smith ran the ball well as the offensive line provided running lanes throughout the duration of the game. Defensively, Garrett Trett had a monster game on the defensive line and JD Ford and Levi johnson really played well in the secondary. The Bulldogs had a rough first half defensively but were able to get it together and hold Seminole to just one score in the second half as they would build on their lead and take a knee to end the game.
“I really thought we played well offensively and got better on the defensive end in the second half. We have some injuries and have had some people out but tonight we all came together and found a way to get it done. I told the kids that Sulphur vs Seminole is a traditional rivalry between two outstanding programs. Both programs have had the same coach for about 40 years and both programs are extremely well coached and are good each year. Anytime you can beat a good Seminole team, it’s a good day.”
