Meet Recap

The Sulphur Boys Golf team competed in the 3A District Qualifier Monday at Lake Murray Golf Course. The Bulldogs secured a spot in the regional qualifier by finishing in 5th place. Hunter Mann led the Bulldogs with a 90. Other scores for the Bulldogs were Caleb Williams 96, Jared Williams 97, Mason Lance 101, and Dawson Padgett 103. Sulphur shot 386 for a team total. The Bulldogs had previously shot rounds of 356 and 350 at Lake Murray in the Dickson and Lone Grove Tournaments this season. Sulphur will be one of 12 teams competing for 6 spots in a one day 36 hole tournament on Monday at Silverhorn Golf Club in OKC.

“I was happy for the boys to qualify for regionals. We didn’t play very well but still managed to qualify. The good news is that next week is a fresh start. We are going up Thursday to Silverhorn for a practice round. The boys are excited for the opportunity ahead of them. We will need to beat a couple of the teams that beat us in districts in order to qualify for the state tournament. The boys are capable of doing that if we can put a few good rounds together on Monday. I’m really proud of the boys for the work they have put in this season to put themselves in this position. Hopefully we can go out and play our best.”
